Abstract: In the framework of IAEA TC Project VIE2010 on Developing Nuclear Power Infrastructure – Phase II hosted by the VAEA, the Generic VVER-1200 Simulator has been supplied for Vietnam in December 2015. Background information including modeling tools and hardware configuration of the simulator as well as technology systems of the NPP simulated are introduced in this report. The design parameters in normal operation are presented not only to show the simulator is simulated for VVER-1200 nuclear reactor, but also to serve as reference for simulation codes used in safety analysis. Transient and accident scenarios may be performed based on various malfunctions simulated on the simulator. This report presents main parameters of main systems and technological features of the VVER-1200 NPP. The real time mode is tested for reactor coolant pump coast-down transient in comparison with measurement data. The implementation of the simulator for study of VVER NPP technology is also suggested.
