Abstract: Modelica is an object – oriented programming language which has been being developed for nearly twenty years and widely used in the solution of the modeling and simulation problems for large and complex dynamic systems. This report presents an overview about the language and its application for the problem of reactor kinetics modeling in point approximation. Many different benchmark data sets built previously with and without temperature feedback for the validation of algorithms to solve the point kinetics equations have been used to verify the Modelica model. The calculated data show perfect agreement between the results given by the Modelica model and the benchmark results. Further research should be carried out to use the Modelica point kinetics model in the modeling and simulation problems of reactor control system.
